So Firefox is a browser that most people will have heard of but do you use it? The answer is probably no only 4.92% of people use Firefox compared to Chrome with 61.75%. The question that most people ask is what’s the big difference between chrome and firefox. One of the key differences is that Firefox boasts a faster browser. It uses 30% less RAM than chrome. A different advantage is that on the mobile version you can still install add-ons such as ad blockers. So it’s a win-win really.
How to install
- Head over to firefox.com where you can install the latest version. Personally, I use firefox developer but for an average user, I would suggest using the normal version.
- Once you’ve installed I would suggest enabling firefox sync. This backs up all your data and bookmarks to the cloud so you can access it from other devices such as your phone or tablet.
- After that, you’re basically done but I would suggest installing some add-ons. The first one is U Block Origin this is a really simple ad blocker to use but it has lots of options for advanced users. A different add-on that I would suggest installing is Smart HTTPS. This makes your browsing secure by changing all requests to the HTTPS version. If there isn’t one it simply switches it back so nothing is missing.
- Finally, if you want to install any other add-ons you can simply visit addons.mozilla.org to browse 1000’s of add-ons.
